envi\u00f3 una remisi\u00f3n a la <strong>Corte Penal Internacional (CPI)<\/strong> para que \u201cinvestigue la probable comisi\u00f3n de cr\u00edmenes de su competencia\u201d en Palestina ante la agudizaci\u00f3n del conflicto en <strong>Gaza.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLa acci\u00f3n de <strong>M\u00e9xico<\/strong> y Chile obedece a la creciente preocupaci\u00f3n por la \u00faltima escalada de violencia, en particular en contra de objetivos civiles, y la presunta comisi\u00f3n continua de cr\u00edmenes bajo la jurisdicci\u00f3n de la Corte\u201d, anunci\u00f3 la <strong>Secretar\u00eda de Relaciones Exteriores (SRE)<\/strong> mexicana en un comunicado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esta medida, que Chile hab\u00eda anunciado primero el 11 de enero, es diferente a la demanda por genocidio que interpuso <strong>Sud\u00e1frica<\/strong> contra <strong>Israel<\/strong> en la<strong> Corte Internacional de Justicia (CIJ)<\/strong> en diciembre pasado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/editorial.aristeguinoticias.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/mexico-israel-palestina-hamas-gaza-guerra-chile-cpi-corte-penal-internacional-crimenes-18012024-700x438.jpg?resize=640%2C400&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEl Gobierno de M\u00e9xico tiene conocimiento y da puntual seguimiento al caso presentado por Sud\u00e1frica ante la Corte Internacional de Justicia y a la solicitud de medidas provisionales\u201d, coment\u00f3 al respecto la Canciller\u00eda mexicana, que en ning\u00fan momento mencion\u00f3 a Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La SRE enfatiz\u00f3 la \u201cimportancia de garantizar la independencia del fiscal de la CPI\u201d para indagar los cr\u00edmenes cometidos en el marco del conflicto en Gaza, ya sea que \u201chayan sido cometidos por agentes de la potencia ocupante, como de la potencia ocupada\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El comunicado advirti\u00f3 del \u201ccolapso pr\u00e1cticamente total\u201d de la infraestructura de justicia de Palestina, por lo que no estar\u00eda en capacidad de investigar los delitos cometidos en su territorio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLa intervenci\u00f3n de la CPI cobra particular relevancia ante los numerosos informes de Naciones Unidas que dan cuenta de muy numerosos incidentes que pueden constituir cr\u00edmenes de la competencia de la CPI de acuerdo con el Estatuto de Roma\u201d, apunt\u00f3 la Canciller\u00eda mexicana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El presidente mexicano, <strong>Andr\u00e9s Manuel L\u00f3pez Obrador,<\/strong> ha reiterado varias veces la postura de \u201cneutralidad\u201d de M\u00e9xico ante el conflicto, que estall\u00f3 el 7 de octubre con una agresi\u00f3n del grupo islamista <strong>Ham\u00e1s<\/strong> que dej\u00f3 1,200 muertos en Israel, cuyo Gobierno respondi\u00f3 con ataques que han causado m\u00e1s de 24 mil muertos en Gaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Canciller\u00eda reiter\u00f3 que, con la remisi\u00f3n en la CPI, conf\u00eda en que puedan abrirse \u201cespacios para un cese al fuego inmediato\u201d y \u201callanar el camino para una paz duradera en la regi\u00f3n sobre la base de la soluci\u00f3n de dos Estados\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cM\u00e9xico reitera su compromiso con la justicia internacional, la prevenci\u00f3n del genocidio y otros cr\u00edmenes de guerra y contra la humanidad\u201d,
