En 1992, fue galardonada con el premio Nobel de la Paz debido a su lucha por los derechos ind\u00edgenas en aquel pa\u00eds, al ser ella parte de la comunidad maya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Canciller\u00eda mexicana inform\u00f3 que la incorporaci\u00f3n de la activista contribuye a los esfuerzos del gobierno mexicano por colocar la interculturalidad como uno de los ejes de la pol\u00edtica exterior de M\u00e9xico, como lo ha solicitado la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En julio de 2025, Rigoberta Mench\u00fa recibi\u00f3 su carta de naturalizaci\u00f3n como mexicana de manos del entonces canciller Juan Ram\u00f3n de la Fuente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el encuentro en el que se le otorg\u00f3 la naturalizaci\u00f3n, De la Fuente reconoci\u00f3 la trayectoria de Rigoberta Mench\u00fa
