Su fallecimiento fue confirmado por Arise News, canal de noticias nigeriano en el que laboraba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCon profundo dolor, la gerencia y el personal de ARISE News anuncian el fallecimiento de nuestra querida colega, presentadora, reportera y productora. Falleci\u00f3 tr\u00e1gicamente en la madrugada del lunes 29 de septiembre, tras un incidente de robo armado en su residencia, el cual est\u00e1 bajo investigaci\u00f3n policial\u201d, escribi\u00f3 la empresa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNo solo fue un miembro muy apreciado de la familia ARISE News, tambi\u00e9n una voz vibrante que conectaba con nuestros televidentes. M\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las pantallas, era abogada, una profesional \u00edntegra y una colega solidaria. Una amiga para muchos\u201d, se lee en el texto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De acuerdo con el medio The Sun, Ajao Adewale, comisionado de polic\u00eda nigeriana, afirm\u00f3 que los ladrones irrumpieron en el complejo donde viv\u00eda Sommie y que un guardia de seguridad se enfrent\u00f3 a ellos y termin\u00f3 con una herida de bala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adewale tambi\u00e9n confirm\u00f3 que la mujer llam\u00f3 a emergencias y que fue encontrada inconsciente y trasladada a un centro m\u00e9dico, donde no pudieron salvarla. \u201cSommie viv\u00eda en el \u00faltimo piso. Por miedo, salt\u00f3 desde el tercer nivel\u201d, asever\u00f3 el oficial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sommie Maduagwu era abogada de profesi\u00f3n y se dedicaba a cubrir temas de derechos humanos y pol\u00edtica en la televisi\u00f3n.
